What are you going to do?
23 04 2008There’s a scene in Disney’s The Jungle Book that I have always loved. The Beatles-like vultures are sitting around bored out of their minds and asking each other “What we gonna do?” It’s funny, but also very profound. Don’t we often find ourselves in situations where we continue to ask ourselves what am I going to do? We can get all the advice in the world, examine the situation from every possible angle and just have that feeling like ‘I HAVE to do something!” but just not know what to do next?
It’s difficult being at the crossroads. Sometimes taking a new path is very difficult, sometimes staying on the path you are on is the harder choice. Either way, whatever you decide you have to live with it. It’s hard to know if you are choosing something because it is right, or easy, or the alternative is too terrible to think of. I know you can’t be afraid to try something new. And really, the more possibilities you have, the stronger you are.
So what are you going to do?
If you are at a crossroads in life, build a fort and charge tolls.
I don’t know about you, but I’m going for it.

I don’t think they are screwed. I think Phil’s right… gather up the opportunities and have options to pick the best one for him, his family, and his undisclosed topic/catalyst.
Even if it came to the point of “screwed” he’s got ethics and morals and strives to do what is right, (as do those around him for that matter)… Karma’s on his side, so it will balance out of a negative situation into a positive one.
It’s a matter of perspective, and that is a choice.
